Notes

In architecture, exedrae (plural of exedra), refers to circular outdoor constructions, with fixed seats and backs on the inside of the curve. The exedras usually served as a meeting place for philosophical conversation. The work is based on this idea of constant dialogue between two of the three instruments while the third draws a aural background that complements this dialogue.

First performed at Palacio de las Flores, La Granja de San Ildefonso, Segovia, Spain, August, 2012 by Cristo Barrios (clarinet), Serguey Teslia (violin) and Gustavo Díaz-Jerez (piano).
