Notes

Jesu Dulcis Memoria was first performed in the Neresheim Abbey Church, Germany, on 6th September 2000 by the Royal Academy of Music Chamber Choir, directed by Patrick Russill, who commissioned the piece for the occasion. The church is noted for it’s extremely long reverberation period – approximately 6″, and the piece is consequently written with a very resonant acoustic in mind and should not be performed in an acoustic with less than a 2′ reverberation period.

Jesu Dulcis Memoria was subsequently performed for a live broadcast on BBC Radio 3 from the Edington Festival of Music in the Liturgy in 2001, and performed and recorded by Commotio on their CD Towards the Light (Herald).
