El Puerperio refers to The Madonna, or Virgin with Child – one of the most treated themes in Christian art. I have always been overwhelmed by this genre and, by extension, to the beauty of the intimate moment of a mother cradling her baby moments after being born. I have tried, by isolating the thirteenth harmonic XIII (longitudinal mode) in different fundamentals of the strings of the piano, to create a particular acoustic enviroment, favourable for a meditative state of internal communication between the mother, the child and the observer.
