A hushed dialogue...

An urban idyll...

Two lines traced

And retraced.

Original version of the first movement - for quarter-tone alto flute and cello - written for Carla Rees and Rosie Banks of Rarescale for their Summer Concert on 1 July 2006 at St Leonard's Church, Shoreditch.

The second and third movements were written for Harriet Mackenzie and Oliver Coates for premiere at a concert presented by the Iffley Music Society on 5 May 2007.

A number of performances since the premiere have been given in the UK, South Africa and Ireland, by Julie-Anne Derome and Gabriel Prynn (Trio Fibonacci, Canada), Tom Hankey and Oliver Coates (UK), and Darragh Morgan and Robin Michael (Fidelio Trio, Ireland/UK).

The premiere recording, by Darragh Morgan and Robin Michael, is available on Tracing Lines – a portrait disc of chamber music by Robert Fokkens (Métier, MSV28535).
