Notes

This song cycle was commissioned by the Virginia Woolf & Music project, with support from the Arts & Humanities Research Council and the University of St Andrews. It was written for and first performed by Siân Cameron and Nicola Rose at Clothworkers Centenary Concert Hall, Leeds University on 17th June 2016.

The text is taken from letters written from Virginia Woolf throughout her life to her sister, the artist Vanessa Bell. The letters reveal a fascinating sibling relationship full of creativity, humour, passion and rivalry.

Text used with kind permission from The Society of Authors as the Literary Representative of the Estate of Virginia Woolf.
