Notes

The piece is constructed by 3 main ideas which are sustaining sound, rapid sound and multiple-sound. These ideas create the combination of sound, trills and multiphonics. The combination of sound presents the variety of the sonority. For an example, using of multiphonic quite rapidly but very connected with the main pitch presents the continuation of shaping and sound, later, the multiphonics are used with trills for creating new gesture of the piece. The variation of material is continuing to develop more and more until the end of the piece. The concept of the piece is inspired from black birds while they are soaring to the air. For the composer’s imagination, the character, gesture and materials are all based on the character of the black birds.

This composition has been published as a prize winning entry for the inaugural Léon Goossens Prize 2016.
