In January 2000 I witnessed a ‘blood moon’ – a total eclipse, turning the moon a ghostly red and revealing the globe-form in 3-dimensions. This short melancholic piece rotates lyrical threads of melody that are shared around the members of the quartet. The music occasionally coalesces but is constantly shifting.

I remember feeling introspective when I wrote this little piece, my dad having just been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
