Notes

Shanti, a Sanskrit word meaning “peace”, takes inspiration from the homonymous poem by Spanish poet Rafael Arozarena.  It is a meditative work with a marked emphasis on timbre, especially the sounds of natural harmonics. Formally it is a “fractal”, where the main motifs transform almost imperceptibly trough time.

First performed 16 february, 2010, Marrakesh, Morocco by the Teobaldo Power String Quartet.
