‘It has been a privilege to be part of the development of this fantastic new work ‘Warp and Weft’. We have enjoyed a collaborative process right from the start and had a great experience when we finally met with Gabor and the Manchester Camerata. The piece is a really valuable and much needed addition to the cello catalogue and we are so excited to have a new double cello concerto with easily programmable forces of strings and percussion. We really hope to be able to have the opportunity to play this piece many more times as it really has something special to say.’

‘Colin Riley’s work Warp and Weft, premiered by the Manchester Camerata in June 2017, is a great example of how a composer can really get into the depths of an orchestra. Colin spent a lot of time with the soloists, musicians and team exploring sounds which naturally suited the collective whilst creating a new work which considered the coming together of different genres. It resulted in a work which was very well received by its audience and enjoyed by all the performers involved.’
