Notes

This piece was commissioned by the Latvian Radio Choir to be performed in collaboration with Ensemble Saraband, and premiered in Oslo in March 2015 as part of the Oslo International Church Music Festival.

The Song of Songs is a new creation and research project that is realised with the participation of the Latvian Radio Choir (conductor Kaspars Putniņš), ensemble Sarband (leader Vladimir Ivanoff) and 8 composers that represent the Nordic countries and the Middle East.

I have integrated the ancient language of Syriac, Arabic and Turkish (the latter sung by the Ottoman singer) as text.

Please contact Composers Edition if you require transposed parts specific to Turkish, Arabic or Persian traditional instruments.
