Notes

Hypothesis belongs to a set of three works conceived in June 2008 including Antithesis and Blurring Definitions, its position in the trilogy being deliberately equivocal. As the triggering postulate of a multi-layered debate, Hypothesis also provides, by a reverse logic, a more understated antiphon to Antithesis. This twofold reasoning is hinted at in the dialogue taking place between the vibraphone and the other percussion instruments. The world premiere of Hypothesis took place at ‘The Listening Hour’ concert at the University of Music and Performing Arts of Stuttgart on 31st May 2017 and was performed by Se-Mi Hwang.
