About Composers Edition

Dan Goren

Composers Edition is the brain-child of Source Music Services director Dan Goren. In the early noughties, Dan spent four fruitful years at the British Music Information Centre where he co-ran the print and distribution services including New Voices and Contemporary Voices. He also led a large scale digitisation programme which saw a substantial portion of the centre's collection of scores and recordings made available online for the first time. Also a composer, performer and researcher it was Dan's particular range of experience in contemporary music and web technologies that led to him being approached in late 2011 by a group of leading composers about providing print and distribution services on an independent basis. The result is Composers Edition!  Since then it has grown, publishing over 800 musical works and books by more than 60 composers.
